The Ordinary Dutch

Searching of Uniqueness

making a documentary set especially a good one of The Netherlands and about the dutch is difficult. Architectonics they are different comparing with Germany.  I also do not want to take documentary photos which fall in the category what people know about dutch and their country. Dutch are much different than their neighbor, the Germans, the land I lived once. I ask my dutch colleagues about uniqueness of The Netherlands and their people, but they even can not give me a clear answer. The only answer I got is the typical image of them you get from tourism agents, which I will avoid!

The following pictures are shots of street performance in Leiden. Some of them are related to the history of the city such as the freedom of Leiden from Spain or people from England fleeing from their country due to their religious views.

Hm, all about The Beautiful Leiden.. haha mas Jos, I think You’re right, what I always saw in pictures or film about Holland is the dark street stone texture, so old, so ancient..
And, most of all, I love your “Leiden early fogy Sunday morning” ^_^

    • Jos Runarka Says:

Thanks Prativwi for always spending your time on seeing my images. This is documentation of the small city we lived and we always did with cities we once lived in…..

      best regards,

Misal : orang pacaran lagi duduk tapi yg dishoot hanya pinggang kebawah.
    Congrtz and Goodluck !!!

      Salam,

      Sari dan Jos

    • Jos Runarka Says:

      Dearest Takumi,

thank you very much! To catch the soul of a certain place you have to live within this place for a couple of time. I am sure now about that. As a tourist who visit a place only for a couple of days this would be difficult. I think the gear would not make an important factor, but thank you!
